Kirby Smart Family Foundation Giving Day 2018 Recap

Dear Friends:

We held our first-ever donation celebration last week. The 25 organizations receiving donations from the Kirby Smart Family Foundation were invited to attend a luncheon event at Stegeman Coliseum celebrating them and highlighting our gifts to their causes.

There are two links that we think you'll enjoy.  One is a DawgNation article about the event and the other is a terrific video we've attached that was filmed at the luncheon. tball/georgia-football-kirby- smart-mary-beth-smart-charity- foundation

Even though it was an off day for the team, ten football players (including Jake Fromm, Justin Fields, and Mecole Hardman) came to the event and signed autographs, posed for pictures, and chatted with the attendees. Five Bar provided the food, for free (and also made a generous donation to TKSFF!).

Mo Thrash, executive director of Camp Sunshine spoke on behalf of all of the organizations. He inspired the group with remarks about the causes represented and how gifts of the sort your generosity has allowed TKSFF to make truly change people's lives. Mo also spoke passionately about the child he lost to leukemia and about Kirby's brother, Karl, who had leukemia and attended Camp Sunshine when he was younger.

In all, it was a great success. Next year, when the event is in the West End Zone facility, we hope all of the Founding Members can attend because getting to meet the selfless people who do so much good for so many people in need is a special time.

In addition to the link to the DawgNation article and video, we've included a list of the organizations to whom TKSFF has made a total of over $200,000 in donations in 2018.

As always, thank you for your support and Go Dawgs!

Kirby & Mary Beth
